BronwenWeeGo.jpgHere are some tips for anyone looking to get an Ager Airconditioning unit.

Ager will NOT honor the warranty if the owner of the property changes, no matter what the problem with the unit.  There's no way to transfer it or get a new one, which is really annoying when the unit is 9 months old and has broken 2wce with what seems to be installation issues (by Ager) and the unit should have a 5 year warranty.

This is a pretty stupid rule, considering they are the ones that supply and install the unit, so they know EXACTLY how old it is.  So if you have a flakey unit (as we do) the $ add up pretty quickly to get them out to fix the problems.

We even asked them if they'd just remove it for us seeing it's broken again and they could keep it for spare parts and they refused.  So we're just going to pay someone else to do it and then we're getting a brand new unit...different brand, much more reliable, with a warranty!

Re: Fireice- unreliable units and unhelpful staff

Ager is not the only one, try to find somebody who repairs Fireice ACs... The website is there, but thats all. Don't bother to get one!!!

Re: Ager airconditioning - unreliable units and unhelpful staff

Having purchased two Ager aircon. units. One has performed well the other has been replaced once and is playing up again only to be told they are busy and will not be able to attend to the problem before the 18/12. 19 days to wait for a warrenty job is totally unsatisfactory.

I have an AGER aircon which is 2 years old (still supposed to be under warranty) - but oh no - since we haven't had it serviced every year since we have had and even if we had (we have to give them documentation) they will NOT HONOUR THE WARRANTY. I was also asked whether we were the original owners of the unit because if we weren't we would not have any WARRANTY. What is the point. The unit itself runs like a freight train. I would never buy another one.

Good news. My Ager aircon. is fixed and running again. It appears Ager has been sold to Energyair and it appears the Ager Units will be phased out and replaced by a more reliable unit. I would like to add that the Sevice Man from Energyair was very effecient. Lets hope it will last another 12 month

Re: Ager airconditioning - unreliable units and unhelpful staff

I totally agree with the above comments. Energyair did not want to know us, they were very unhelpful and unsympathetic re our warranty for an Ager air conditioner that does not work any more. Unless there is fine print to say if a company changes hands, which renders the warranty void, the warranty should be a legal document.
We have never come across this before!
So we are getting a different company to come and repair our unit, we will not be recommending Ager or Energyair to anyone wanting to install air conditioners

If you have an Ager aircon, make sure that you kept your warranty if the aircon is not working. If they didn't accept the warranty, you can apply a case with them.
